Born in
Manhattan and raised on the north shore of Long Island, I was able to
enjoy not only what New York City had to offer but also natural beauty
of the coastal areas and northeastern woodlands. The opportunities and
diversity provided by that part of the United States helped me to appreciate
many different aspects of life.
During
medical school an additional year of studying, teaching, and applying
Osteopathic Principles and Practices gave me the wonderful experience
of being introduced to and learning from some of the great osteopathic
masters. I was also fortunate to travel and study healthcare throughout
the United States exposing me to many different cultures and socio-economic
conditions. It was during this time that I contributed to several chapters
in a textbook on Osteopathic Manipulation ("An Osteopathic Approach
to Diagnosis and Treatment," Lippincott 1990-first edition).
During
my post-graduate studies I continued to interact with and learn from
some of the old-time osteopaths. This gave me the unique opportunity
to observe and use Osteopathic Manipulation in all areas of hospital
care from the newborn nursery, labor and delivery, emergency room, recovery
room, hospital floors and in the clinics. After becoming one of few
physicians, in 1994, to obtain Board Certification in Osteopathic Manipulative
Medicine, I began a private practice in Maryland. Here I met some wonderful
people and enjoyed that location for many years.
The Island
of Kauai called and I happily found myself here in 2002. I began Kaua`i
Osteopathic, Inc., a private medical practice specializing in Osteopathic
Manipulation and Cranial Osteopathy with the goal of sharing these wonderfu
tools and gifts with the people of the Island and with those who come
to visit this beautiful place. The practice is located in historic Old
Koloa Town, only minutes from sunny Po'ipu.
Though
my past training includes various acupuncture styles as well as some
basic homeopathy, my love continues to be Osteopathic Manipulation and
Cranial Osteopathy.
In my spare
time I enjoy good friends and relatives, the great outdoors, photography,
food, good music, live performances, and travel (not always in that
order). Mahalo for your interest in and taking the time to visit Kaua`i
Osteopathic, Inc.'s website. I look forward to helping you feel better
and reach your health goals.
Best wishes
to you for Health from Within,
